Just got back from the show. Pretty sure this was the setlist (might have a few tracks in the wrong order though):
Porcelina Behold! The Night Mare Bring the Light Superchrist Tonight, Tonight Mayonaise Lily (My One and Only) Today Perfect - (Billy acoustic, Jimmy on tambourine) Tarantula Stand Inside Your Love Ava Adore Drown Bullet With Butterfly Wings 1979 - (Billy solo, acoustic) That's the Way (My Love Is) - (Billy acoustic and Lisa) My Blue Heaven (Billy and Lisa) -------- The Everlasting Gaze Cash Car Star (Piece of Me, What it's Worth, Let There Be Rock) Set the Controls to the Heart of the Sun Crush United States
The entire band went off after My Blue Heaven and the house lights went on! Not sure if Billy cracked it, or if they had to go off for some reason, or there was a mistake with the lights. But the band came back and played the remainder of the set as shown above. Billy picked up a Gibson SG before starting My Blue Heaven, and then put it down halfway through - and looked a bit shitty afterwards. I saw Ginger looking as though she was coming back on, putting her bass on, after My Blue Heaven, but then they all went off. Bit strange.
Good show overall - I'll write more later on (when I've finished eating my burger!).

A lot of people were talking through That's The Way and My Blue Heaven - Bill cracked the shits and rightly so.
As soon as he put that guitar down mid song I knew he was going to walk off. So so so glad they came back on. The second half of the show was an asskicking of epic proportion. I don't think I've screamed so loud the entire tour.
Jesse came onstage again. He was on the side during Superchrist, air drumming and having a ball. Billy was encouraging him and smiling. He got way into Set the Controls, rocking out way more than last time.

Just got back from the show. Wow. So awesome. The crowd tonight was also in so much better form than Adelaide - there was much more of an enthusiastic vibe, and you could tell Billy was in a much better mood as a result. Mayonaise, TTW and US were highlights for me tonight.
Was it just me or did it appear that Billy had a sore neck or something? Kept on rubbing it before he went off stage after Blue Heaven....Maybe I was just imagining it, and it's something he does when he's shitty because the crowd were being such dicks.

Billy was definately agitated to the max during My Blue Heaven and wasn't hiding it. Didn't we all just shit our pants when the house lights came on!

Oh and friends of mine after the show asked "who was the dude playing tambourine?" they thought it was some lucky random from the crowd but were pleasantly surprised when informed otherwise. perhaps billy should have introduced his brother? jesse did look a little reluctant to come on (we could see him off stage the whole night from our possie) but i'm so glad he rawked out.

I just got backed from the gig, and it was great! The impression I got was that the crowd was loving it. They didn't play all the hits such as 'zero', 'disarm', or ''cherub rock', instead playing a lot of songs that only hard core fans would know. A few random recollections: Superchrist rocked. It works a lot better as a live, rather than a studio track. Crowd digged it. My blue heaven - there was a bit of talking during it. I think this was more due to the fact that it was the first opportunity for anybody to say and hear each other. That's the way - sounded much better as an acoustic solo track. Cash car star - different version. Drumming was similar to the drums on the Machina 2 version of Blue SKies Bring Tears. I could go on, but I am too tired and in need of sleep! I need my Zs for the vfest tommorow!

Billy was definately agitated to the max during My Blue Heaven and wasn't hiding it. Didn't we all just shit our pants when the house lights came on! Yeah, I noticed that. I thought he had a saw neck, or his in-ear monitor was playing up. He didn't come across that shitty to me though. He had a good sense of humour when he was chatting to the audience. Likewise, after the last song he spent a longtime thanking the audience on both sides of the stage. At one point I noticed Ginger seemed a little icy with him, but Billy seemed ok. Jeff seemed to be getting into it too. "Let there be guitar"!

i'm such an arse hat when i'm nervous/caffeinated/excited thus, sorry to everyone for being a nuter before/during/afer the gig. i loved this one and was thankfully oblivious to what was apparently a shity crowd yet again. the guys all around me at this one were freaking awesome and sang along to everything - my blue heaven and floyd included .. which wasn't happening in adelaide.
i didn't *feel* it as much as adelaide but it was just a really rad show from where i was. kind of missed the chance of flipping out and toppling over the edge with the lack of encore.. again.. pretty surprised because i had thought the crowd were getting into it.. so hearing otherwise didn't really compute for a while.
scotty.. sorry for manhandling you after.. just sharing the sweat around again. todd.. sorry for continually forgetting everything you tell me about yourself.. i blame the excitement in sydney for that one.. nothing stuck in my mind about people/places etc.
hope the post gig drinkies went down well!

A lot of people were talking through That's The Way and My Blue Heaven - Bill cracked the shits and rightly so. I dunno about rightly so. I hate people talking during gigs as much as anyone, but I still thought it was a major over-reaction/wild mood swing. Was amused by Billy inspecting his manicure during MBH though. Still really enjoyed the night, particularly rockin out when they came back with Everlasting Gaze. Superchrist was another early highlight. Sad that this is the last stand-alone show (particularly with the lack of Muzzle-action, oh well). Word up to all the Ozphoria peeps I've met since last Thursday. Keep reprazentin.

last night was AWESOME! Stand Inside Your Love, Nightmare, Porcelina, 1979, Perfect, Cash Car Star, Mayonaise, Drown were all amazing. Stand Inside Your Love had me so close to tears at the end, it took me about 10 mins to recover afterwards. when the band came on i couldn't stop smiling for about 15 mins, it still doesn't feel real. i wish i had some photos, it's killing me! i'm such an arse hat when i'm nervous/caffeinated/excited thus, sorry to everyone for being a nuter before/during/afer the gig. hey dude did i meet you? i can't think of who you are... i had the black & white scarf on

I was halfway back in the room, straight back from Lisa. I had a guy who was about 50 feet tall in front of me, so he occasionally blocked my view of Jeff (eh, ok) and Lisa (noooooooo!). I eventually made it a little further left (and a little further back) and then I had full view of the whole stage.
Could anyone hear the 3 meatheads yelling "XYU!" at every (in)opportune point during the quiet stuff? I was way fucking glad when they pissed off from where I was, but they went forwards into the crowd... hope they didn't end up at the front and I hope they weren't the reason Billy pissed off... it was about that time of the show. Honestly, I could've punched the main guy - and would've if he didn't have his two mates with him. I'm a big guy but I can't take on 3 guys, not in a mosh pit, not with girls right close by who might get hurt. Aw, how chivalrous....? Or does that just make me weak!
Anyone got any idea about the lack of encores? My hypothesis is partly that 1) the gear is V Fest gear or 2) crosshired, and it needed to be transferred ASAP to 1a) Showgrounds or 2a) base or 2b) straight to another job... and partly due to the XYU trio.
I didn't take a camera after all - nor do I think I would have wanted to. The crowd wasn't nearly as rough as RATM at BDO, which is what I was afraid of, but it turns out that I don't think I would have enjoyed the concert much if I was snapping away over the tall guy's head all night. But this morning, I wish I had some photos. Blah!
I had a few "who's *this* retard" comments when Jesse came up - they quickly shut up when I said "that's spaceboy - Billy's brother!"
If you're reading this, hello to the girl who was in front of/next to me most of the night! I believe I remember you from FReeZACentral, the first year they ran it - you're the girl who was in the Dallas Crane street team. I was the one who waved goodbye/good riddance to the XYU trio...

lack of encores because of the crowd. nothing to do with equipment. Muzzle was meant to be the encore last night.

hey dude did i meet you? i can't think of who you are... i had the black & white scarf on No, i don't think i've really spoken to you (pretty shy despite the hyperactivity at times) but i've seen you at all the gigs if that counts! i had a RATM hoodie on in line for adelaide/melb and a black skirt and stockings.. red hair in adel/melb.. blonde-ish hair in syd.

I really enjoyed the show last night, I think this was the most energetic the band has been the whole tour - mainly Jeff and Ginger were really getting into it ... Jeff did a great solo during US.
Brendo I think you could be onto something with the lack of an encore, if they needed the equipment for the V Fest.
As for the break in the middle of the show ... I have no real idea. There are so many rumours flying around about it but the only people that know why are the band. We could keep guessing what it was/is ... was it people talking during the quieter songs? was it Bill's neck? was it something to do with Jimmy? was it the fact the crowd just didn't seem to get into ANY song? or did Billy just need to go to the loo?
I thought the band was great last night, Melbourne crowd - not so much. Billy joked with the crowd, tried to get them into it - but was everybody just to cool to sing along and jump around? It was just disappointing that people just didn't get into it - even the well know songs.
It was the typical thing as we left too, people complaining about the songs they didn't play - not the songs they did play. When you think about it they ended up playing about 10 or so songs from their greatest hits plus then other well known songs like Mayo - Lily - Porcelina. So how can people complain? But just because they didn't get what they want - the show therefore sucks. Again the term "musical tourists" come to mind - people just want want want - what they want to hear. I always thought SP fans were open to new songs and sounds ... but this tour has shown me they are narrow minded sometimes.
btw - this isn't all SP fans, I know that, I just mean some of the people that were there last night.
EDIT: For those that don't know, Muzzle was on the encore but was dropped.

Well the only disapointing thing about the show for me personally was no Muzzle which is my favourite song. But I only thought about it when the show had finished. I'm sure most of those people you talk about were in the same boat. The whole show I was just in awe. I found myself a little star struck, I pretty much just sat back and took it all in. I'm pumped this morning though and wish I could do it all again! Cash Car Star and Superchrist really blew me away 2 of my favourite songs of the night. I really enjoyed the set list as a whole a lot of mixture in there for the die hard fans and some classics for the more casual fans. Opening with Porcelina was incredible, it took me by surprise and is a perfect song to start it all off!

The show was amazing but the dead kids *sitting* in front of us looked like they were watching TV. That sucks about the encore. Did anyone happen to record the show? I got some shitty shitty pictures on my shitty shitty camera, but yeah. I noticed some of you black banded ozphorians, but was to shy to say hi. So hi.

The first house lights break? Was it something to do with Jesse perhaps? I actually saw people leaving, thinking the show had finished... I wish XYU guys had left, they kept shouting "MOOOOOOOORE" and I told them there was another hour left, just to shut them up...
Sunky - I gave the exact same rant as my friends and I were leaving, about the three guys who were shouting for XYU. I admit I wish they had played Muzzle, Cherub, Starla - but hey, we got Drown, Ava Adore... which Sydney didn't get in what was almost the same setlist... I will take that - substitutions of equally awesome songs are a-ok in my book!
I mean: I think having followed you guys through the tour (aw, see? he said you guys, and not the band! how cute) I sort of knew what to expect, I knew the pool of 30 songs that we would get about 20 of, so I didn't come away as disappointed as I might have, hoping for Zero and WBFTT and Fuck You etc. I tried not to crush the hopes of my friends but to bring them back to reality - "I hope they play ____".... "well, they haven't played it at all this tour - but tonight could be the night, hey?" was a common conversation theme on the way in.
I was VERY impressed with Jeff, Ginger and Lisa... I can't really imagine James and Darcy and uh, Garson playing that setlist with those songs, especially with those jams. Speaking of jams - "Set The Controls" was awesome.

Last nights show was no doubt the best concert I had been to…………. Including Adelaide’s gig on Wednesday Night, Billy’ Future Embrace Tour or the Adore tour in Melbourne.
Managed to secure front row position in front of Ginger and had the time of my life……
Highlights for me were
Porcelina of Vast Oceans Behold The Night Mare Bring the Light Superchrist Tonight, Tonight Mayonaise Today Perfect Tarantula Stand Inside Your Love Ava Adore Drown Bullet With Butterfly Wings The Everlasting Gaze Crush United States and Billy Welding his guitar and playing in front of us
Friends also attended the gig who appreciate good music and they also enjoyed the night Managed to get Gingers Bass Pick also which capped off the night………
Great to meet everyone and will hopefully catch up with everyone at Melbourne’s V Festival

Hey guys, I just joined up after finally living out a dream!! Seeing the first band i ever fell in love with live!! ive seen everyone from Rolling Stones to Michael Jackson live and this was truly a concert ive waited a lifetime for!!! I have about 20 pumpkins concerts on dvd's and they always leave me in awe!! but seeing them last nite, left me gobsmacked... and at the end of the show when he walked along the stage greeting fans... he reached out and shook my hand and i neally fell to my knees! Every song they played i loved, it was good to hear some of the lesser known stuff! i was expecting it to be just all the "radio" hits and such... Cash Car Star just blew me to peices, Hearing them do a Pink Floyd cover made me go numb.... as i live and breathe them aswell!! I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as i did, i was also wondering who that guy was hanging around the stage, i was aware he had some form of disability and thought maybe he was from the starlight foundation or something, Hearing it is his brother made me connect with them even more, as my brother is also of similar condition and if i was in billy's shoes... my bro would be with me every step of the way aswell! .. truly awesome band, and a night ill forever remember... sorry for the long and probaly boring post! but i still have goosebumps all over
